• You must bring a flute in working condition.  Please make any and all necessary repairs if needed.
• Please bring all music you are working on and any books that are assigned to you.
• Bring a three-ring binder for sheet music and a notebook with room for comments and homework assignments.
• Please come prepared to perform your homework assignments, not sight-read.

Payment:

• Parents will receive an invoice on the first lesson of each month.  Emailed invoices are available.
• Payments may be made at your convenience, but must be paid in full on the last lesson scheduled in that month.
• Payments made after the last lesson of the month will be considered late and are subject to a $10 late fee.
• Effective on the 1st of each September, there will be a $2.00 rate increase for all private lessons.

Scheduling and Cancellation:

• I require a 24-hour advance notice of lesson cancellation or request to reschedule, unless you are sick. If you are sick, please stay home, you will not be charged, and you may reschedule.
• You may not reschedule your lesson if you do not cancel within the 24 hours, and will result in full payment.
• There is a 44-lesson commitment per year to reserve a slot in my studio.
• If you are taking any time off at any time of the year, please schedule the necessary amount of make-up lessons to reserve your time slot.
• If you discontinue lessons prior to August 31st of the current school year, you are responsible for financially assuming 1/2 of the fee for the remaining lessons due.
• If a student is late, lessons end at the scheduled time.
• Rain does not constitute a cancellation unless I call to warn about the road conditions.Each September, I will arrange my yearly schedule.  During the second week of August, each year, please bring 5 choices of lesson days and times so that I may best suit your needs along with the rest of my students.
• Generally the lesson time will remain consistent, but due to a frequent travel schedule, I reserve the right, as do you, to reschedule at any time, 24 hours before the scheduled lesson.

Other Policies:

• I do not teach bi-weekly lessons.  I will be happy to schedule periodic lessons during cancellations by regular students, or on make up Saturdays.  If you are one of these students, you do not have a 44-lesson commitment.
• In the event that my studio is full, I will be happy to put you on a waiting list, or direct you to one of my student apprentices.  Upon their graduation from High School, the apprentice's students will be invited to assume their lesson slot in my studio.
• If you feel you have to discontinue lessons due to financial hardship, please enquire about scholarships.
